Organizational barriers to labor productivity growth in the context of digital transformation: A model of impact and management tools
Introduction. The growing scale of enterprise digital transformation, the implementation of smart technologies and digital platforms, and changes in the structure of business processes indicate the formation of a new model of labor productivity growth based on the integration of technological and organizational changes. The relevance of the study is determined by the need for a comprehensive analysis of organizational barriers that limit the transformation of digital investments into sustainable labor productivity growth in the context of economic digitalization. The purpose of the study is to develop a model of the organizational factors impact on labor productivity in the context of digital transformation and to formulate management instruments aimed at reducing organizational constraints. Theoretical analysis. The analysis is based on organization theory, digital transformation concepts, and the theory of productivity factors complementarity. The study employs comparative and systems analysis, the methodology of constructing an integral index, as well as elements of expert assessment and ranking. Results. The research clarifies the role of organizational barriers in ensuring the economic effect of digital initiatives, develops a multiplicative model of digital technologies impact and business process maturity on labor productivity, and proposes an integral Organizational Barriers Index (IOB) that allows for a quantitative assessment of the organizational readiness of functional units for digital change. The model was empirically tested at an industrial enterprise through the calculation of the index across functional units. It is demonstrated that reducing organizational barriers is a necessary condition for increasing the transformation coefficient of digital investments into economic results, while managing organizational readiness becomes a key factor in enterprise competitiveness within the digital economy.
