The problem of goals and tasks in criminal justice is aggravated by the absence of these categories in the Criminal Procedure Code. At the same time, the legislator introduces a new category, the category of criminal justice purpose, into the Code. Such categories as goals, tasks, and functions of criminal justice should be differentiated, their role in legal procedures should be shown, and the category of criminal justice purpose should be brought out. Our studies in this field have shown that the goals and tasks of modern justice remain not illuminated in the criminal procedure sphere. Thus, the legislator may be recommended to make corresponding additions to the text of the Criminal Procedure Code.
