Problems of Ecological Safety Russian Joining to the WTO

Abstract: 

Introduction. Sharp deterioration of environmental security issues at both the global world level and at the level of individual regions and countries, the inability to solve global environmental problems by any single country contributed to the revision of the foreign policy priorities and the greening of international relations. Theoretical analysis. This article analyzes some of the contradictions that arise in the process of global environmental security, due to inconsistencies of economic, environmental interests and laws of individual national economies, international agreements made at the UN level and interests of the leaders, members of the World Trade Organization, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Russia’s participation in it. Results. Analysis of the consequences of Russia’s entry into it shows the urgent need to take a range of measures that will ensure the prevalence of economic and social benefits of the problems and losses, including environmental issues. These measures include the author identifies: the creation and improvement of institutions necessary to protect the interests of domestic producers in the WTO, as well as improving the competitiveness of industries, and especially those who play a strategic role in the economy.
