Abstract:

Introduction. Methodological premise of the selection of a new field of research: possible categorical apparatus, levels of analysis, knowledge and interdisciplinary areas of demarcation. Theoretical analysis. The nature of economic patriotism is revealed through economic behavior, as individuals, communities and representative Government. Economic activities can be rational in a stable economy and irrational during crisis. Irrationality is based on мentality, inclusion in economic ethos and trust society to regulators. Results. Ideological views and specific practical refraction can be represented as a public attitude toward what is happening in the world economy, detrimental to the national interest and national values, as evidenced by the contemporary and retrospective interviews. Economic macro-policies usually makes the choice between protectionism and free integration in the global economic context. Protectionism has deep historical roots, focusing on protection of domestic entrepreneurship. Import substitution policies pursued by the Government of the Russian Federation, has its pros and cons. Under the sanctions, the potential of patriotic rhetoric is not intuitive and perhaps further stagnation.
